Been a while since you talked about chubstuck but! John’s basically a cryptic that never leaves his house at the end at the comic. He might be stuck in depression but all in all he just sleeps and snacks around all day long. At first he denies his friends visiting him bc he’s embarrassed about his sliiiiiiight weight gain and wants to work it off before anyone sees him with a significantly pudgier stomach and less defined arms. He keeps putting off the weight loss stuff, and after a few months of communicating with only texts Dave gets fed up so he goes to pay john with a surprise visit.

Oh the irony, Dave’s the one shocked with a comical jaw drop when he comes face to face with a heavily panting John struggling to waddle over to open the door. John’s belly dips way past half of his enormous thick laps even when he’s standing, his formerly toned hammer wielding arms now hang softly yet heavily to his sides, his jawline obscured by a cute double chin and puffy hamster cheeks, even his old slender piano hands are soft and dimpled….how dave reacts is up to you
